The World is Already Painted Today

Look outside...the world has already been painted today.  The beauty  can't be replicated, only copied.  Time to take a few minutes to reflect on what's been freely given.

Time to do a little "Plein Air" Painting

Now's the best time of year, in my opinion, to start painting "en plen air", that is, outside, when the temperature is perfect, a gentle breeze is blowing, and the sun hits everything with every value of light, from bold splashes to a soft wash.

So much to paint, so little time

It's raining outside, still.  However, that gives me an excuse to not mow the grass, and to paint instead.  I'm currently working on a children's book style illustration to demonstrate focal point and some of the devices for doing so. After that, I've got several projects to start--the re-creation of my Via Colori piece, for one.
